Rush Distances of the New Map Additions – 2014 Season 2

Thought I’d test out the rush distances for the new maps that’ve been added this season of the SC2 ladder pool. These new maps are pretty cool as we have our first 3 player map and also a map that is trying to be both heavy macro and heavy aggression. The last seasons map pool with filled with tiny rush distances with the likes of Yeonsu, Daedalus, Habitation and Polar Night. 3 of those have been removed which just left Habitation which was the smallest map from last season. The maps that have been added this season all have medium to long rush distances aside from the short spawns on Waystation, which is 1 second shorter in total than Habitation, so you can definitely expect ye olde 9pools to be coming out on that one. Aside from Short Waystation and Habitation, the rush distances are fairly long. Long Waystation spawns even almost has the length of cross Alterzim! Anyway take a look for yourselves and if you want to compare to previous seasons you can have a look at these previous posts: Last Seasons Maps and 2013 Season 6 Maps

All rush distances were tested with a Drone and all times are using in-game time.

  1. Looks to me like Blizzard wanted to get rid of all the blink stalker maps and in the process will have made every Terran matchup more difficult on every map in the pool. Glad they took out some of the old maps but there is no way Alterzim should still be in the pool. They can’t ever seem to get it right.
